On April 28-29, Zaporizhzhia Jazzy, a festival of jazz music, was held in Zaporizhzhia. For the second year in a row, “Integrated Iron and Steel Works “Zaporizhstal” was the title partner of the event.
The event took place in the park of metallurgists named after Satskiy. Here there were two scenes: the main and closed, which brought together musicians not only from all over Ukraine, but also from abroad. Jamala and TNMK were headliners of the festival.
Zaporizhzhia citizens could spend their holiday weekend listening to modern jazz compositions. Also at the event, it was possible to visit the street food festival, relax on the green lawn, enjoy the beautiful views of the city from the observation deck, or take photos at the special photo zones.
Another important event during the festival was the contest “Only children in Jazzy”, which was held at the City Centre of Children’s and Youth Creativity. More than 200 school students competed in the art of music.

– There are so many emotions! Cool. I came here with a 10-year-old son Yaroslav and a 12-year-old daughter Anastasia. Most of all we waited for Jamala. My daughter is delighted with her. It is the second time when we are at festival. The first time we came by accident and we were all days here until late at night. Zaporizhzhia definitely lacks such events. Moreover, interestingly, I meet acquaintances here whom I have not seen for years. And that’s great.

– Great festival! Super! Impressions are good. We were at this festival last year, and liked it very much. For our city, it is just like a bright flash that we need for creative young people and for others. I like everything. The atmosphere is good. I came not to a specific artist, but to a jazz festival, to see friends, to show myself, to see musicians, to listen to music, to lie on the grass. We postponed all trips for two days and stayed in the city to go to the “Zaporizhzhia Jazzy”.
