Under the annual corporate program “First time in the first form!” Zaporizhzhia enterprises of Metinvest – “Zaporizhstal”, “Zaporozhogneupor”, “Zaporozhkoks” and Zaporizhzhia Casting and Mechanical Plant – presented sets of office accessories to 5 500 schoolchildren – the children of employees. For these purposes, the company transferred more than UAH 3.1 million.

In the last days of summer, bright holidays with an animation program and entertainments, were arranged for the children of “Zaporozhkoks”, “Zaporozhogneupor” and Zaporizhzhia Casting and Mechanical Plant employees. Traditionally, children were presented gifts – school kits.
On August 30, “Zaporizhstal” organized a holiday for children. First-graders have traditionally received their first school backpacks with school kits. All the children of 7-13 years old received big office sets, and children of 13-16 years old will start a new academic year with youth backpacks, also equipped with school kits.
“The corporate program has become a good tradition. Over six years of the project, the Steel Works helped to get ready around 10 000 children of our employees for school,” – said Rostyslav Shurma, General Director of “Zaporizhstal”.
On September 1, more than 65 000 schoolchildren will sit down to desks in Zaporizhzhia, and every twelfth child will start the academic year with gifts from Metinvest.
The corporate program “First time in the first form!” of Metinvest covers all school-age children whose parents work at the Group’s enterprises. In 2018, more than 30 000 schoolchildren will receive school kits from Metinvest.
