Rehabilitation center for Metinvest employees from Mariupol started to work in Zaporizhzhia

The Rehabilitation Center for Mariupol employees of Metinvest Group started to work on the basis of the hub of Platform of Joint Actions non-governmental organization in Zaporizhzhia.

Every day thousands of residents of Mariupol hero-city are evacuated from Mariupol to Zaporizhzhia risking their lives. Employees of Azovstal and Ilyich steel giant plants are among those who evacuated.

Some continue their journey further west in search of greater security, but a large number of internally displaced persons remain in Zaporizhzhia. Here volunteers try to provide them with all necessary assistance. The Metinvest Humanitarian Aid Center is also involved in providing humanitarian assistance and placing people in shelters. However, the Company has also worked out the possibility to provide workers from Mariupol, who are now in Zaporizhzhia, with a job. The Rehabilitation Center for Metinvest employees from Mariupol was created for this very purpose.

“The war has left about 40 thousand metallurgists and repairmen of Metinvest Group in Mariupol homeless and without work. Most of them leave for cities where the Company operates, including Zaporizhzhia.

Mariupol residents are strong and courageous people willing to work. We are ready to offer them adaptation and employment at the Company’s enterprises currently working in Zaporizhzhia,” said Aleksandr Mironenko, Head of Metinvest’s Humanitarian Mission Coordination Center in Zaporizhzhia and General Director of Zaporizhstal Iron and Steel Works.

On the basis of the Platform of Joint Actions the Center hosts the Metinvest Career Center, where visitors can register and get job offers at Zaporizhzhia enterprises of Metinvest or in municipal institutions. Also in the process of employment IDPs will be helped to solve their housing problems.

In addition, you can apply to the Center for medical and psychological assistance. There are also people here who will provide any advisory assistance: they will advise where and how to draw up documents, where to send a child to school or kindergarten, receive humanitarian aid.
