Situation in Zaporizhzhya is being deliberately destabilized. JSC “Zaporizhstal”, a stronghold of stability and welfare in Zaporizhzhya region, became a target object of the aggressive groupings. From the 15th till the 18th of October, 2014, there were two attempts to block operation of the enterprise. Aggressive threats, masked faces, appropriate gear with symbols of the “Pravyi Sektor” (“Right Sector”) – all of this provoked great indignation among the labour collective and anxiety for the home works and the city.
Unlawful actions of the marginal forces towards “Zaporizhstal” are no different than actions of the terrorists aimed to destroy industry in other regions of Ukraine, they are actually an internal sabotage in Zaporizhzhya region. These actions disrupt smooth operation of the works, which is the main contributor to the regional budget, guarantor of the well-being of 15 000 employees and members of their families, employees of the contractor organizations, public sector employees, doctors, teachers. As a matter of fact, these attempts are meant to destabilize the entire Zaporizhzhya region, to bring chaos, violence and destruction.
Labour collective of JSC “Zaporizhstal” asks the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the state leaders to turn their attention to the unprecedented pressure, put on the works’ labour collective by the radical groups. Labour collective of the works expects that situation will be solved within the legal framework, and those found responsible will be punished in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine. Text of the letter addressed to the President of Ukraine and the state leaders was accepted at the workshops and shift meetings in all shops and structural subdivisions of the works.
