In 2016, PJSC “Zaporizhstal” of Metinvest Group, in accordance with technological strategy directed on ecological upgrading, has invested 1,8 milliard hryvnyas in development and updating of production.
Among the largest projects of the Steel Works in 2016 is modernisation of gas purification facilities at sintering machines No. 3-6 that will ensure cleaning of air from dust up to 50 mg/m3, as for sulphur dioxide content less than 400 mg/m3.
One more scale project of the 2016 is reconstruction of Blast furnace No. 3. The furnace will be equipped with modern dust exhausting system, which will ensure cleaning of exhaust fumes from dust up to 50 mg/m3. The volume of investments into the project will make around 1,5 milliard hryvnyas. Within the limits of the project, new dust exhausting system of casting yard at Blast furnace No. 2 is put into trial operation, which is equipped with highly effective bag filters with impact regeneration, powerful draft equipment and system of pneumatic transport for returning of the caught dust into production.

– The disadvantageous investment climate remains In Ukraine. The Ukrainian companies are practically cut off from the world markets of investments, but “Zaporizhstal” even in these conditions caries out systematic modernisation of production with obligatory ecological component directed on decrease of loading on environment. Since 2012 we have already directed 5,7 milliard hryvnyas on modernization and reconstruction of the Steel Works.
