PJSC “Zaporizhstal” financed the carrying out of the tenth all-Ukrainian football tournament in commemoration of Alexander Polyak, former Zaporozhye mayor and ex-chairman of the Zaporozhye regional football federation. The Works sent 20 thousand UAH for these purposes.
All-Ukrainian football tournament in commemoration of Alexander Polyak takes place in Zaporozhye from March 30 to April 1 with the support of the mayor Vladimir Buryak and the Zaporozhye City Council. Ten teams from Dnipro, Zaporozhye, Tokmak, Energodar, Nikopol, Melitopol, and other cities take part in the competitions.
PJSC “Zaporizhstal” systematically supports the Youth Sports School “Metallurg”. The Works fully equipped pupils and coaching staff of the school with football uniform and sports equipment. Besides, the Works purchased modular buildings equipped with everything necessary to organize full-scale training process such as personal lockers, shower cabins, heating appliances. In 2016 PJSC “Zaporizhstal” provided financial support to the sports school “Metallurg” totality in the amount of 4 million UAH. In 2017 the Works already financed the school for 1.8 million UAH.
We remind that in the beginning of this year, children’s football school “Metallurg” Zaporozhye was under threat of disappearance: in connection with the liquidation of team, financing of educational institution has been also stopped. Several hundred children were expelled from the school area, and came up the question whether the team will be able to finish this season in championship of junior football league of Ukraine. To maintain the long tradition of youth football in the Zaporozhye city, by the decision of City Council was created Children’s and Youth Sports School “Metalurg”, in addition PJSC “Zaporizhstal” has financed Children’s and Youth Sports School in championship of junior football league of Ukraine and also matches of final part of tournament. Also, thanks to the help of “Zaporizhstal”, a full-scale training process was organized for all the teams of the Sports School “Metallurg”
