On the threshhold of the Knowledge Day, PJSC “Zaporizhstal” held a number of events socially important for the city – on the last week of August management of the Works met with teachers of 18 sponsored schools and with long-service educators; a holiday was organized for the employees’ children, who are going to the first form this year. The Works allocated over UAH 1.1 million for these purposes.

A traditional meeting with teachers of sponsored schools was held on the occasion of the beginning of a new academic year. During the meeting educational institutions were presented with interactive blackboards, whose total value constitutes over UAH 300 thousand.
Within the framework of the corporate social program “First Time – First Grade!” of Metinvest Group, the Works traditionally congratulated first-form schoolchildren on the Knowledge Day and handed schoolbags with school supplies to 520 children of the enterprise’s employees. The Works allocated UAH 800 thousand for these purposes. On this day the Works organized a celebration for children in the indoor track facility of the Sports Complex “Metallurg” with the participation of entertainers and the best creative teams of the Metallurgists’ Culture Centre.
It is worth noting that 100 of the first-form schoolchildren – children of employees of PJSC “Zaporozhogneupor” and PJSC “Zaporozhkoks” – also received schoolbags with school supplies in the course of the organized festive events.
Besides, according to the terms of the Collective Agreement, on the occasion of the 1st of September children of employees, who require social support on the part of the Works, have been provided with aid in amount of UAH 45 thousand. The Works has also transferred 119 thousand UAH to four sponsored educational institutions as an aid in preparation to the beginning of a new academic year. On the 1st of September management of PJSC “Zaporizhstal” will traditionally visit celebratory assemblies at the sponsored schools in the city.
