PJSC “Zaporizhstal” allocated more than 500 thousand hryvnas for children’s and youth sports school of football “Metalurg” (Zaporozhye) for the full-scale completion of the football season in the Championship of Ukraine 2015/2016 in junior football league among teams of major league.
The funds will be directed to the training process organization for young players – pupils of youth sports school “Metalurg”, as well as to participate in the competitions for four youth teams U-14, U-15, U-16 and U-17.
“The main target now is to save children’s football school in Zaporozhye. We provided financial support to sports football school “Metalurg”, in order children were able to complete competition and to make training process full. We are ready to work together with the city and to prepare a systematic program of further development of children’s sports school “Metalurg” – said CEO of PJSC «Zaporizhstal» Rostislav Shurma.
We remind that in the beginning of this year, children’s football school “Metallurg” Zaporozhye was under threat of disappearance – in connection with the liquidation of team, financing of educational institution has been also stopped. Several hundred children were expelled from the school area, and came up the question whether the team will be able to finish this season in championship of junior football league of Ukraine. To maintain the long tradition of youth football in the city of Zaporozhye by the decision of City Council was created Children’s and Youth Sports School “Metalurg Zaporozhye”, in addition PJSC “Zaporizhstal” has financed four out matches and holding four home matches of Sports School team “Metalurg”.
PJSC “Zaporizhstal” in the framework of social responsibility systematically engaged in support and development of sports and physical culture in the Zaporozhye region. In total, PJSC “Zaporizhstal” has allocated about 4.5 million USD in 2015, to support children’s sports schools and other organizations. Also the Works provides maintenance and development of athletic sports complex, which is the official training base of the national team of Ukraine on track and field athletics. For this purpose “Zaporizhstal” directed 10.9 million UAH in 2015.
