“ZAPORIZHSTAL” INTEGRATED IRON AND STEEL WORKS CONCLUDES COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT FOR 2014

The conference of labour collective of “Zaporizhstal” JSC was held on the 21st of March, at which the fulfillment of the Collective agreement for 2013 was summarized and the Collective agreement for 2014 was adopted by the management and the labour collective. On the part of the employer the document was signed by the General Director of “Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works Rostislav Shurma, on the part of the employees — by the chairman of the trade-union committee Leonid Anisimov.

The principal social document of “Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works retains unaffected all of the employees’ social guarantees and benefits for 2014, it reaffirms all of the parties’ obligations and key issues concerning labour relations, employment, working and rest hours, labour discipline, occupational and environmental safety, social benefits and guarantees. The agreement provides for implementation of 138 measures. The social benefits and guarantees package per employee constitutes in money terms 4 100 UAH, per long-service employee — 2 080 UAH.

“There is currently a complicated economic situation, but even under these conditions we are able to find opportunities for improving social guarantees of employees. We have to realize that earning money for social programs is a task for both the employer and every employee of the Works, as it is the only way to create all necessary conditions for strict implementation of all provisions of the collective agreement”, stated the General Director of “Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works Rostislav Shurma.

Special attention in the Collective agreement is paid to the long-service employees: in 2014 the enterprise will be paying for medical services and insurance, providing vouchers for health-resort treatment at reduced prices, retaining payment of material assistance in times of retirement and holidays, quarterly supplementary pensions.

It bears reminding that in 2013 the Collective agreement of “Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works was recognized the best among enterprises of mining and metallurgical complex of Ukraine. All of 164 clauses from the Collective agreement of 2013 have been carried out, which reaffirms the bilateral act signed between the trade union (the representative of the labour collective) and the employer.
