In the middle of May experts of the Ukrainian Quality Association – partners of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), visited “Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works and inspected the management system of the works.
EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) model is aimed to encourage organizations to improve quality of manufactured products and management quality, it is among the most efficient practices on the company system management. United Nations entities, government of the United Arab Emirates, “Bosh”, “Siemens” and other companies are among those, who use this model for improving their activity.
In the course of inspection the group of experts carried out examination and assessment of the managing capacities of the works, met with enterprise employees of all levels – from top managers to blue-collar workers. A common vision of the key areas for further improvement of the activities of “Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works was developed as well. As a confirmation of the well-earned high appraisal, “Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works will be awarded with the EFQM certificate “Recognized Excellence”.
“We would like to remark the astonishing progress in all activity areas of the enterprise that was achieved in a year and a half since the new top-managers team began working. In the nearest time, after agreement with the European Foundation for Quality Management, the expert group will provide the works detailed report with description of strengths and areas of the works for improvement according to all criteria of the model”, said European expert on EFQM model Taras Kalyta.
It bears reminding that the integrated management system functions successfully at “Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works and concerns quality, energy efficiency, labour safety and environmental protection. The system conforms to the requirements of international standards in these areas.
