“Zaporozhstal” Steel Works, following the principles of social responsibility of Metinvest Group, renovate the infectious-box ward for young children, at the age from one month to three years, in 5th child health clinic of Zaporozhye. The Steel Works allocated 3 million UAH for these purposes.
Before the beginning of winter season, “Zaporozhstal” Steel Works would carry out capital repair of 29 patient rooms of infectious-box ward, which is in unsatisfactory condition at present time, as a result of lack of repair within the last 20 years.
Among the rooms under repair- rooms for small patients and their mothers, game room, canteen, Procedure Room, doctors’ room, room for nurse on duty, other office premises and ancillary accommodation. Total area of rooms under repair is 1000 m2. Within the framework of repair it is planned to renovate electric power supply system and illumination, air condition system, water supply and drainage, heating system. According to present-day standards, the supply of oxygen would be provided in the patient rooms, signaling system would be installed from beds in the rooms to the nurse’s station.
“It is very important to help children, who are very vulnerable and exposed to diseases”,- pointed out Rostyslav Shurma, General director of “Zaporozhstal” Steel Works, and wished good health to all children: “ It is better not to be sick at all, and be healthy and strong, I wish this to each child and their parents!”
Infectious-box ward of 5th child health clinic is designed for providing a full scale treatment of 45 children, who would stay in the hospital together with their mothers. Infectious-box ward is designed for treatment of children at the age from one month to three years with respiratory disease and with serious central nervous system disease. On the average, 1500 patients undergo medical treatment in the ward annually.
Medical treatment process is not interrupted during repair works – appropriate conditions are arranged for small patients in other wards.
