“Zaporozhstal” Steel Works successfully passed the re-certification auditing of integrated management system (IMS), confirming its matching to the requirements of international standards of ecological management, ISO 14001, quality management IS0 9001, management of labor protection and industrial safety OHSAS 18001. Upon the results of auditing, the IMS of Steel Works is recommended by international auditors LLC “Veritas Bereau Certification Ukraine” to certification for the new three year period till 2017.
Auditors visited business subdivisions and estimated the functioning of IMS, analyzed the documentation in effect and its execution. Technological processes associated with production, had been checked; implementation and efficiency of ecological programs; fulfillment of standards; control of risks and knowledge of safety rules.
In the course of auditing, independent international specialists pointed out indisputable leadership of Steel Works in the issues of controlling of ecology, quality and labor safety. Specially, auditors emphasized modernization projects of Steel Works, which are implemented with accent on solving of ecological aspects, and also raise the quality of products, improve the control system of labor safety.
“For the last year, immense work had been done in the field of improvement of management, production, technology, quality of production, ecology, safety of labor. On many occasions we saw the approaches, which make tracks far out of the requirements of international standards, in particular, in the issues of ecology, industrial safety and technologies. By way of example, I refer to facts of implementation of new pickling line in the cold rolling mill №1, which would permit the Works to solve a lot of issues, connected with quality, ecology, and of course, the new line is reliable and safe”,- pointed out Ivan Sokolov, actg. General director of Veritas Bureau, Ukraine.
Besides, auditors specially noted high level of provision of safety and health of working people. In particular, packageof implemented measures, demonstrate the level, exceeding the requirements of standards OHSAS 18001. Implementation of methods of risks estimation HAZOP/HAZID, would permit to improve cardinally the system of management of industrial safety and health.
