The social initiatives contest of “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works “We Are the City” provided help in publishing a unique book about the military halls of fame of Zaporizhzhya region.
The book “Guardians of Memory” is a project of the regional charity foundation “Natkhnennya” (“Inspiration”) and Society of Assistance to Defense of Ukraine. The idea to write this book was born back in 2003. However, work on publication, which would contain information about all military halls of fame in the region, was stopped.
– We stopped hoping that the book would ever be published, – says Nataliya Kuzmenko, chairman of Zaporizhzhya regional organization of National Union of Journalists of Ukraine. – Later we decided to participate in the contest “We Are the City”. We thank a lot “Zaporizhstal” SW, which initiated such wonderful social programs, concerning various aspects of life of the city and the region. The Works raises status of Zaporizhzhya to a higher level.
A volunteer project “Book for Veterans from Hand to Hand” was organized, so that the book would reach the address of every veteran.
