For two days specialists of mining and metallurgical enterprises searched for ways of solving production problems within the framework of the Super Final of the program “Young Leaders of Metinvest”. Many people had to face learning the work of new directions, but they coped with the most difficult tasks. Zaporizhstal workers also showed their good knowledges.
The work of the youth was assessed by the jury, which included the directors of Metinvest Holding, among whom was the general director of PJSC “Zaporizhstal” Rostyslav Shurma.
22 teams participated in the final part of the program who represented 11 enterprises of the Metinvest Group. Members of the expert council seriously assessed the work of young leaders, because future of the largest industrial enterprises of the country is in their hands.
“In our company, at the moment, there is a catastrophic lack of young specialists with critical thinking who can see the problem and offer creative ways to solve it,” said Evgeniy Popov, director of technology and quality of Metinvest. “We also have a problem when appointing to key positions, so we have the image of the winner of today’s super final. However, even before its determination, seeing all those who reached the final, we are satisfied with the results of this project. Participants get important experience, and we get the opportunity to communicate with creative professionals.
The team of PJSC “Zaporizhstal” worthily performed and found several solutions to the problem of down time of sinter machines by eliminating the sticking of charge on the intermediate bunkers and charging chutes. Ingulets Iron Ore Enrichment Works showed the best knowledges. Zaporizhstal Steel Works got the 2nd place. The third place was taken by the PJSC “Central Iron Ore Enrichment Works”. The Mariupol Mechanical Repair Plant took the Grand Prix. Teams that took prizes received vouchers for additional education, in particular, learning English abroad.
