General vocational guidance, more than UAH 5,000,000 for scholarships and comprehensive modernization of educational process is the result of Memorandum on Cooperation signing on May 23, 2019 between Metinvest Group, National University “Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic” and ZNU. The agreement reinforced the common desire of socially responsible business and higher professional education institutions to improve the level of future industrialists training.
The memorandum is intended to create favorable conditions for reforming educational system to train qualified technical specialists, taking into account the current trends in labor market of Ukraine. Its goal is to improve the quality of specialized education through upgrading the material and technical base of educational institutions, updating curriculum and creating comfortable conditions for educational process, motivating talented and ambitious students aimed at realizing their own potential in the industrial sector.
“The new scholarship program for more than 400 students, support for modernization of classrooms and laboratories, joint career guidance work to popularize metallurgical professions are the main areas of cooperation between responsible business Metinvest and Zaporizhzhia universities. We are not just employers, we are ready to be partners and undertake additional obligations in the priority process of creating modern professional education in Ukraine”, said Zaporizhstal General Director Rostyslav Shurma.
In particular, the memorandum provides for the interaction of company and universities in conducting courses on the preparation of EIT, courses on STEM-education for schoolchildren, internships for students and teachers based on enterprises.
From now on, the best students of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic and ZNU, who are studying for 1-5 courses of specialized specialties, can apply for Metinvest scholarships on a competitive basis. Total amount of social investments will be more than UAH 5,300,000.
Let us recall that annually, in the framework of partnership program with educational institutions, Zaporizhzhia enterprises of Metinvest employ about 200 young professionals.
