The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and Zaporizhstal of Metinvest Group have donated 11 modern ventilators to medical institutions in Zaporizhia. The cutting-edge equipment was delivered to the regional clinic for infectious diseases, city hospitals No. 1, 2, 7, 9, as well as the emergency hospital.
“From the first days of the pandemic the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has been consolidating the efforts of business community to save human lives all over Ukraine. We are constantly communicating with medics, so we understand what hospitals need and promptly help them. This is our contribution towards the fight with the pandemic, the fight for human lives,” shares Zaporizhstal CEO Oleksandr Myronenko.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit Ukraine, Rinat Akhmetov was the first to give a helping hand. He allocated around UAH 500 million towards COVID-19 Fight in Ukraine project, a part of the Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives programme. This is the most systemic and extensive private initiative aimed to help the public medical institutions fight the coronavirus disease.
The base hospitals across the country promptly received 216 ventilators, over 300 rapid lateral flow tests, more than 200 units of personal safety equipment and consumables, as well as 155 oxygen concentrators. Overall, the Foundation helped 500+ medical institutions country-wide. The scale of this support effort is unprecedented, and COVID-19 Fight in Ukraine project improved the quality of healthcare services in the country.
We remind that in April 2021 Zaporizhia regional clinic for infectious diseases put into operation the cutting-edge oxygen station that was financed by Metinvest Group’s Zaporizhstal with the support of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
