Staff conference of PJSC “Zaporizhstal” approved the results of the implementation of the collective agreement for six months of 2020. The document sets out the bilateral obligations of the administration and the trade union organization of the enterprise aimed at ensuring effective production and economic activities of the Steel Works and meeting the social interests of employees. The collective agreement of “Zaporizhstal” contains 124 measures, for their implementation in the first half of 2020, the Steel Works allocated about UAH 200 million.
Summing up the results of the implementation of the collective agreement, the chairman of the trade union committee of the Steel Works Leonid Anisimov noted: “We see that the administration of the Steel Works clearly fulfills all agreements with the trade union, established in the collective agreement. “Zaporizhstal” has one of the highest average wages in the mining and metallurgical industry – about UAH 23 000 hryvnia, which was paid on time and in full.”
The Steel Works operates projects for additional motivation and bonuses for the team. In the first half of the year, the bonus fund of the proposal submission system, which encourages the introduction of innovative ideas in production, amounted to about UAH 730 000. In addition, the Steel Works has kept unchanged the payment of salaries and bonuses to employees who were put on remote work due to the tightening of quarantine protective measures.
“As a responsible employer, the administration fulfills its obligations under the collective agreement thanks to the staff and stable work of the enterprise, despite all the difficulties of the first half of this year, associated with the pandemic and the economic crisis,” said Alexander Mironenko, General Director of “Zaporizhstal”.
The company operates a flexible system of medical insurance and services, absolutely free for employees. In 2020, the Steel Works expanded its corporate voluntary health insurance (VHI) program for employees infected with COVID-19: the company will compensate for the costs of diagnosing and treating coronavirus disease. “Zaporizhstal” allocated about UAH 7.5 million to finance the option for VHI.
Due to the difficult epidemic situation in the country and the suspension of the work of the health centers of the enterprise, the Steel Works provided compensation for summer holidays. In total, about UAH 2.7 million were paid to employees who planned summer vacations in the health centers of the Steel Works.
“Zaporizhstal” supports its labor veterans – in the first half of the year, UAH 7.3 million were allocated for free insurance and financial assistance, as well as for arranging events of the Council of Veterans.
