Zaporizhstal completed the last month of 2024 with production of 284.7 ths tonnes of iron, 245.5 ths tonnes of steel, and 234.1 ths tonnes of rolled products. Overall, the enterprise produced 3.1 mln tonnes of iron, 2.9 mln tonnes of steel, and shipped over 2.4 mln tonnes of rolled products in 2024.
“In 2024, Zaporizhstal continued to operate in close proximity to the frontline and associated security risks, staff shortages due to mobilization and migration, limited energy supply, a crisis in global markets, and stagnation in the internal steel market. It took great efforts to maintain the plant’s production capacity utilization at an average of 75% and, additionally, to continue programs supporting the workforce, region, and army Undoubtedly, Zaporizhstal team’s key focus in 2024 was concentrated on finding solutions to increase its own resilience, effectiveness and competitiveness. The increase of production volumes in 2024 compared to 2023 is related to the increased blast furnace productivity, higher demand for commercial pig iron and the partial restoration of the sea freight export route.
It is worth reminding that in 2023, Zaporizhstal produced 2.7 million tonnes of iron, 2.5 million tonnes of steel, and shipped over 2 million tonnes of rolled products.
