Additional shelters of the receiving hopper of filling devices are installed at blast furnaces Nos. 2, 3 and 4 of Zaporizhstal. Developed individually, taking into account the design features of each furnace, the barrier systems of the receiving funnel increase the overall efficiency of the aspirations of blast furnaces and reduce the likelihood of dust in the atmosphere when charging blast furnace units with burden materials.
Specialists of the Works developed, manufactured and installed additional protective structures of receiving funnels at the highest points (+80 m) of each of the three blast furnaces, which helped to significantly reduce dust when charging the burden into the furnace and improve the operation of aspiration systems.
“Each shelter helps blast furnace aspirations be more effective at capturing dust. In fact, these are barriers that capture even more dust and return it back to production,” said Alexander Mironenko, General Director of the Works.
The complexity of the work on the installation of shelters and modernization of aspirations is due to the implementation of the project in the conditions of current production, during stops for repair and maintenance of metallurgical units. One additional protective structure, installed at the highest point of the blast furnace, weighs about 3 tons.
We will remind, since 2012 “Zaporizhstal” allocated for ecomodernization about 15 billion hryvnias. The largest of the implemented projects are ecological reconstruction of blast furnaces with installation of modern aspiration systems of foundry yards and bunker overpass, construction of the only hydrochloric acid pickling line in CRM shop -1 in Ukraine, commissioning of industrial stormwater return complex, etc.
