On January 29, “Zaporizhstal” works hosted the final of the “Young Leaders of Metinvest” corporate program, which aims to identify change leaders who are ready to offer effective ideas for production development.
Fifty young employees of “Zaporizhstal” took part in the final stage. For five months they worked on their own projects, were trained in the basics of a lean enterprise, innovative thinking and public speaking.
The project aimed to improve the production of cold pig iron, proposed by team No. 3 under the supervision of an electrician of the blast furnace shop Dmitry Rastorguev, was recognized as the best one. The same project became the winner in the nomination “Choice of program participants”.
The best projects of young leaders will be implemented in production, and the winners will be awarded and recommended to the personnel reserve of the company.
It should be pointed out, that at “Zaporizhstal” works there are many opportunities for the professional development of young people. Each year, the works holds professional skill contests, science and technology conference for young researchers, and youth forums. Moreover, young metallurgists can express themselves in the public life of the works, taking part in sports competitions, creative competitions, KVN, and in many others volunteer projects.
