“Zaporizhstal” has successfully passed the recertification audit of compliance with the requirements of international standard ISO 50001: 2018 “Energy management systems – Requirements with the user guide”.
The supervisory audit was carried out in energy workshops, at the steelmaking, sintering, rolling production bays of “Zaporizhstal” by specialists of the auditing company Technical and Management Services, which is a corporate partner of “TYUF ZYUD”.
The audit confirmed the compliance of the system with the requirements of the international standard ISO 50001: 2018. Experts noted the high level of maturity of the energy management system operating at the enterprise. Among the projects aimed to reduce losses in the energy sector, auditors noted the “Svetophor” project, which involves data collection on the equipment condition by means of data transferring from all workshops to a single electronic database. The program makes it possible to take quick decisions on the timely completion of necessary repairs, which helps to prevent failures and reduce the number of equipment downtime.
“For metallurgy, there is still the problem of high energy intensity of products. “Zaporizhstal” could become an example for many of the metallurgical enterprises in field of the introduction of energy-saving technologies and means to reduce costs”, – said General Director of “Technical and Administrative Services” Mikhail Levitsky.
Note that “Zaporizhstal” received a certificate of compliance with standards EN 10025-1: 2004 and EN 10130: 2006 in 2016. Moreover, the works is certified since 2008, and confirms regularly its compliance with international standards for environmental management systems ISO 14001: 2015, quality management IS0 9001: 2015, as well as occupational health and safety management systems. Requirements with guidance on the application of ISO 45001: 2018.
