In the first nine months of 2024, Metinvest’s enterprises in Zaporizhzhia – Zaporizhstal, Zaporozhogneupor, Zaporizhcoke, and Zaporizhzhya Casting and Mechanical Works – paid over UAH 2.1 billion in taxes and fees, what is 35% more than in the same period last year.
Among the most significant deductions in terms of volume are the single social tax and the single personal income tax. Environmental, land, and military taxes also account for a significant share of payments.
“Metinvest Group’s enterprises remain among the largest taxpayers in Zaporizhzhia. In the first nine months of this year, Metinvest’s metallurgists contributed nearly UAH 700 million to the local budget. This amount has increased by a quarter compared to last year. Taxes are the foundation for local budget operations and the sustainable daily life of the frontline region. Despite the challenges of the wartime, our enterprises remain a steadfast support for the city of Zaporizhzhia,” says Taras Shevchenko, Acting General Director of Zaporizhstal.
Moreover, the Company’s enterprises are systematically implementing socially important projects in the region to reintegrate war veterans and support their families, help vulnerable groups of people, eliminate the effects of shelling and restore destroyed infrastructure facilities, etc.
It should be noted that Metinvest Group, including associates and joint ventures, increased its tax payments to the Ukrainian budget by 38% to over UAH 15 billion in the first nine months of 2024. Since the onset of the full-scale war, Metinvest Group has allocated UAH 7.5 billion to support Ukraine and its citizens, of which more than UAH 4 billion has been spent on the needs of the army as part of Steel Front, Rinat Akhmetov’s defence initiative. Metinvest Group remains the country’s reliable pillar in the fight against the enemy.
