PJSC «ZAPORIZHSTAL» CONNECTED GAS-CLEANING SYSTEM OF SINTER MACHINE NO.5 FOR RUNNING IN THE MODE OF PILOT OPERATION

Within realization of the large-scope programme on gas-cleaning plants modernization at Sinter Plant, PJSC «Zaporizhstal» connected the gas-cleaning equipment at sinter machine No. 5 for running in the mode of pilot operation.

PJSC «Zaporizhstal» successively carries out reconstruction and modernization of the production equipment with the aim at reduction of harmful emissions into atmosphere. In 2016, it is scheduled to complete the ecological modernization of Sinter Plant with construction of gas-cleaning system at Sinter Machine No.6. Since the period from 2013, they had installed the gas-cleaning equipment at Sinter Machines 1 and 2. The new gas-cleaning units had already been installed at Sinter Machines No 3 and 4, which at present are running in the mode of pilot operation. The investments made by the Works into installation of the new gas-cleaning systems at Sinter Machines No. 3 to 6 make up about UAH 630 million.

«We launched in pilot operation the next scheduled fifth gas-cleaning unit and immediately started working at the site of the Sinter Machine No.6. Within three months, we shall completely realize this project, and put the final point in ecological modernization of the Sinter Plant», – noted the General Director of «Zaporizhstal» PJSC Rostyslav Shurma.

The supplier of the main gas-cleaning equipment for the Works’ Sinter Plant was the largest Ukrainian producer, «Progress» Berdychev Machine building Plant; REITZ Company, (Germany), supplied draught equipment. The new gas-cleaning equipment fitted with the system of ecological monitoring – sensors of continuous automatic control, all the operation data are fixed. The emissions dynamics and efficiency of the gas-cleaning systems operation may be watched in online mode.

The modern gas-cleaning system provides air cleaning from dust at Sinter Machine No.5 up to 20 mg/m3, for sulphur dioxide – less than 400 mg /m3, which correspond to the European emission norms, as well as it allows to stepwise reduce discharge of sludge water off the recirculation system of the Sinter Plant.
