Steel Works "Zaporizhstal" is committed to fostering sports opportunities for everyone, providing immense support through its facilities and scholarship programs.
PJSC "Zaporizhstal" renders maximum support to the sport. The sports complex “Metallurg” regularly hosts competitions of national and international level, regional and city championships in track and field athletics and Greco-Roman wrestling. The pupil of SDUSHOR, physically challenged athletes «Invasport», and other sports organizations always provide the base.
For the 11 leading sportsmen of the region in 2016, the scholarship program of PJSC "Zaporizhstal" was in force. Scholarship winners in 2016 among runners included Olesya Povkh, Anastasia Tkachuk, Elizaveta Babiy, and Anastasia Bryzgina. Among javelin thrower Anna Gatsko-Fedusova, and all-arounders Alexei and Anna Kasyanovy, the works will support these athletes in 2017. The scholarship fund will be about 330 thousand UAH.
Traditionally, the company pays attention to the popularization of sports among the employees of the works. In 2016, more than 4 thousand employees took part in the sports contest. Annually, the enterprise carries out a sailing regatta for prizes of the PJSC "Zaporizhstal" and supports the sports club "Metallurg".
For sports development in 2016, PJSC rendered more than 12 million UAH.
