PJSC “Zaporizhstal” renders maximum support to the sport. The sports complex “Metallurg” regularly hosts competitions of national and international level, regional and city championships in track and field athletics and Greco-Roman wrestling. The pupil of SDUSHOR, physically challenged athletes «Invasport», other sports organizations, always provides the base.
For the 11 leading sportsmen of the region in 2016 the scholarship program of the PJSC “Zaporizhstal” was in force. Scholarship winners in 2016 among runners Olesya Povkh, Anastasia Tkachuk, Elizaveta Babiy, Anastasia Bryzgina, among javelin thrower Anna Gatsko-Fedusova, among all-arounders Alexei and Anna Kasyanovy and other athletes the works will support in 2017. The scholarship fund will be about 330 thousand UAH.
Traditionally, the company pays attention to the popularization of sports among the employees of the works. In 2016, more than 4 thousand employees took part in the sports contest. Annually the enterprise carries out a sailing regatta for prizes of the PJSC “Zaporizhstal” and supports the sport club “Metallurg”.
For the sports development in 2016, PJSC rendered more than 12 million UAH.
