INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF ROLLING MILL ENGINEERS WAS HELD AT PJSC”ZAPOROZHSTAL”

International conference of rolling mill engineers (hereinafter Conference) which got together more than 70 specialists on rolling mill production from Ukraine and foreign countries was held at PJSC ”Zaporozhstal” on September 09-11, 2015.

Among the participants of the Conference, there were representatives of worldwide renowned producers of metallurgical equipment SMS Group GmbH, Primetals Technologies, Danieli and domestic enterprises PJSC ”Zaporozhstal”, PJSC ”Zaporozhogneupor”, PJSC” SW Azovstal”, PJSC ”MSW Illicha”, PJSC ”KHTZ”, PJSC ”ESW”. In the course of the Conference, participants made reports on rolling mill production process, exchanged the experience of mastering of advanced technologies and practices, discussed the topical issues. More than 20 reports had been presented and discussed on the subject of improvement of technologies of rolling mills production process.

«Very often, in the speeches of many politicians, economists, sounds the phrase, that mining and metals sector- is the foundation of Ukrainian economy. Now, the time has come, when our enterprises have possibility once again, to confirm this thesis. We understand, that how the domestic producer would work depends the future of the country. We should continue the work and further decrease the production prime costs, use all available reserves, in order to keep the production process under control, and to be competitive”,- pointed out Rostyslav Shurma, Chief Executive Officer of PJSC ”Zaporozhstal” in the course of ceremonial opening of the Conference.

Choice of the Conference venue is not accidental, today, large – scale industrial reconstruction takes place at PJSC ”Zaporozhstal”. Within the framework of the program the domestic and foreign specialists familiarized with operation of uptodate continuous hydrochloric acid pickling line (CPL-4) in the cold rolling mill № 1. It should be noted, that CPL-4 was commissioned in 2014, and it is one and only industrial project in Ukraine with complete automation of production process, what excludes the influence of human factor on equipment operation. Effective output of CPL-4 is 1350 thousand tons of pickled metal per year. The cost of the line amounts to 762 million UAH. CPL-4 is an example for the other plants, so as it operates according to European ecological standards, emission of sulfuric acid fumes is decreased by 83%, and the discharge of industrial water from the cold rolling mill into Dnieper river is stopped completely.
