The seminar «Perspective technics in blast-furnace practice» in frameworks of which, modern technics of increasing the efficiency of blast-furnace practice were discussed, has taken place at PJSC «Zaporizhstal» on June, 21st.
Participants of the seminar have noted importance of introduction of modern technics, which influence on operating efficiency of plant operation and its competitiveness in conditions of the world crisis and price drop for metal products, and also difficulties, which the Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises face.
Representatives of related metallurgical industrial complexes have taken part in a seminar: “Azovstal”, MMK named after Ilyich, Enakievsky MP, PJSC “Zaporozhogneupor” managed by the company Metinvest, and also representatives of company Danieli Corus. Questions of using the modern designs of Blast furnaces, modular approach to reconstruction, specific features of work with coal injection, using of hot blast systems for long and safe campaigns, last achievements in the field of dry and wet cleaning of blast furnace gas etc. were considered during the seminar
«We already have taken a lot of useful out of this meeting. Many modern decisions, which were discussed within the limits of the seminar, are already applied and adapted on the Blast furnace No. 3 which we will overhaul. Our blast-furnace practice will be effective and will correspond to modern standards», – has stated Rostislav Shurma, General Director of the PJSC “Zaporizhstal”.
«We have developed the concept, that during reconstruction of Blast furnaces, technologies should be applied, which during realization of 20 % of technical decisions provide 80 % of positive effect. Blast furnace No. 2 was reconstructed at the «Zaporizhstal» Steel Works by such principle. In autumn, Blast furnace No. 3 will be overhauled. It will be already a new furnace with observance of all effective constructive solution», – has declared Leonid Vasilyev, the Main Expert on technics and quality of Metinvest Group.
«Modern technological decisions, which introduces «Zaporizhstal» during reconstruction of the Blast furnace No. 3 will allow to raise productivity and to lower expenses on hot metal production», – has declared Gert-Jan Apeldoorn, Director for Marketing and Sales of the company Danieli Corus.
As it was informed earlier, PJSC «Zaporizhstal» has begun preparation for the large scale reconstruction of the Blast furnace No. 3. The project, investments, which will make around 1,47 milliard hryvnyas, is realised with using of the most progressive processing techniques. Reconstruction of the BF No.3 is planned to begin in November 2016 and to complete for 5 months. Already in July, preparation of preassembled units for the BF No 3 will be started in territory of the Steel Works on a special construction site.
