From the 29th of May, 2015, «Zaporizhstal» Steel Works, within the social responsibility programs, starts to transfer heat to the «Municipal Heating Network» Concern for providing the inhabitants of four Zaporozhye districts – Leninskiy (left bank), Zhovtnevyi, Ordzhonikidzevskiy, Kommunarskiy (Southern residential estate) – with hot water in summer-and-autumn period. In this case, heat from the Works is transferred to the city at the price in 2.5 times lower than the tariffs according to which the city sells heat to the citizens.
In 2015, «Zaporizhstal» SW expanded the program of co-operation with the «Municipal Heating Network» and it is planning to substantially increase heat supply from the Works up to 99 thousand of Gcal against 79 thousand Gcal in 2014. Such an arrangement allows the enterprises of the municipal heating energy sector to safe over 10 million cubic meters of natural gas.
«The Works is ready to give more additional heat energy also for the rest of the city districts, which are not included in this program yet. However, the «Municipal Heating Network» does not have any technical facilities for accepting our heat due to absence of the heat routs. I strongly believe that in view of rise in price for natural gas and due to growth of tariffs for the citizens, the city authorities should urgently develop systematic implementation of the energy saving programs, they should allocate funds for modernization of the heating network, because this is already a problem of surviving for many citizens», – Chief Engineer of «Zaporizhstal» SW Vladimir Buryak noted.
Heating energy of the Works is going to be transferred to the city from the 29th of May up to the 15th of October before the beginning of winter heating season.
