The traditional meeting of CEO of Iron and Steel Works “Zaporozhstal” Rostislav Shurma took place with the leading athletes of Zaporozhye region on the eve of Physical Culture and Sports Day of Ukraine. In the course of the meeting the trainee of SC”Metallurg” Anna Melnychenko, who got the victory in 2013 Moscow World Athletics Championship, was awarded the certificate of monthly personalized fellowship of II&SW “Zaporozhstal” and testimonial. Other fellowship holders of the Works- winners of the Olympics, world championships, members of the national team of Ukraine were also present at the meeting.
Aspects of the further promotion of physical training activities in Zaporozhye region, and summarizing of summer athletic season were considered during the meeting.
«We understand very well, what a big part the sports occupy in formation of healthy lifestyle of people, physical and moral improvement of the nation, – pointed out CEO of Integrated Iron and Steel Works “Zaporozhstal” Rostislav Shurma. – The Works has close cooperation with Federation of track and field athletics of Ukraine. Soon, we shall begin the renovating of our track and field indoor arena, according to the world standards. Investment of Integrated Iron and Steel Works “Zaporozhstal” into development of sport complex would amount to 2 million UAH in 2013.”
Promotion of physical training activities and sports – is the tradition of the Works. II&SW “Zaporozhstal” select teams in volleyball, football, basketball, table tennis, kettlebell lifting, arm wrestling, chess honorably represent the Steel Works in competitions of different level.
Within a frameworks of meeting with the leading athletes of Zaporozhyethe, Lyubov Cherepakha multiple champion of World, Europe and Ukraine was given the set of twenty all-cast kettlebells. This unusual order was fulfilled at II&SW “Zaporozhstal” by request of Chairman of Zaporozhye regional state administration Alexander Peklushenko.
Please be reminded, that for the promotion of sport in Zaporozhye region in 2013 Integrated Iron and Steel Works “Zaporozhstal” allocated 8,5 million UAH, of which 6 million UAH were the maintenance and development of track and field indoor arena of SC”Metallurg”, 2 million UAH – yacht club of II&SW “Zaporozhstal” and 450 thousand UAH for the payment of monthly personalized fellowships to the leading athletes of Zaporozhye region. Today, ten athletes are the holders of personalized fellowships of II&SW ”Zaporozhstal” .
