Entrance to the office of the Zaporizhzhia regional organization of the Red Cross Society has become accessible for people with disabilities. Thanks to the victory in the competition “We Are the City”, the organization’s management was able to install a ramp, a canopy, lighting with a motion sensor and update the steps.
Every day, dozens of people turn for help at the Red Cross, located at 4A Pochtovaya str.. Three times a week, an office of psychological assistance for the families of ATO soldiers is working. There is a room for medical and social assistance for single elderly people. In winter, they help people without a fixed place of residence in the office: they feed, provide warm clothes and make it possible not to freeze in extreme cold.
Oksana Beketova, a Chairman of the organization, and author of the project: “This is very important for the Red Cross, as a lot of people come to us with poor health and disability. Before that, we had very steep steps and did not even have a railing. Sometimes our volunteers even raised people and helped them enter the building. ”
