On October 29, 2014, the ceremonial presentation of book on museums of combat glory of Zaporozhye “Guards of memory” took place in the in the museum of “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works. The book was published by charity fund “Natkhnennya” due to grant received from “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works in the framework of contest “We are the city”.
Charity fund “Natkhnennya” under the auspices of regional organization of Armed Forces Help Society and ZOO “ Nation union of journalists of Ukraine” prepared the authors’ materials and photographs for preparing a book. Complete archival materials and photographs on more than 200 museums of combat glory of Zaporozhye and Zaporozhskaya region were collected in the book. This is the third book on topic of events of Great Patriotic War 1941-1945., the first two – “Mutual understanding and reconciliation” and “ The names of glorious heros”, were published in 2005 and 2010 respectively.
Edition of book is distributed among the Museums of Local Lore, school museums, school and higher education institutions’ libraries of Zaporozhye and region, part – is sent to libraries of world (Library of USA Congress, British National library, Canadian institute of Ukrainian studios), other part – was bestowed as memento to participants and veterans of Great Patriotic War, to volunteer groups from museums employees and school pupils of the region. The organizers arranged more than 50 presentations in the libraries, museums, of education institutions of Zaporozhye city and Zaporozhskaya region within the framework of the project.
