The final stage of the regional contest “Olympic Young Stork” started at the track and field arena of “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works. The teams of educational institutions of the region that have become the winners of district and city stages take part in a mass sports event. It is more than 300 students.
The sponsor of the event was “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works, which provided its arena for the competitions, and provided support in their arrangement.
Children will compete not only in sports relay races and in mobile competitions; the jury will estimate the presentation of each team – visiting card, motto and emblem. In addition, there will be a competition of poetry and drawings for the Olympic theme.
The event “Olympic Young Stork” is held under the authority of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine. The aim of the competition is to attract children to the sport and the Olympic movement. The sports festival consists of four stages. At the first one – each educational institution conducts “Olympic Young Stork”, then the winners of school stages meet at district or city competitions. At the third stage, the best representatives of districts and cities compete at the regional level. And at the final, fourth stage, the best teams of the regions take part in the all-Ukrainian final.
The last few years students of the multifunctional gymnasium “Harmony” from Energodar city represented Zaporizhzhia region in the final of the All-Ukrainian competition “Olympic Young Stork”.
