On the 22th of January cafe «Free ДОМ hub” in Metallurgists Palace of Culture young people gathered “Zaporizhstal”, “Zaporozhogneupor”, “Zaporozhkoks” and Metinvest Promservise for the celebration of the Ukrainian Unity Day.

Some workers of “Zaporizhstal” came with their children – participants of the children’s drawing competition. The children were offered to depict the essence of this holiday in the picture and children coped perfectly well with this task. The winner was chosen in a democratic way – each of those present could see all the art-works and vote for the one which they liked more. The winners got prizes from the youth organization of “Zaporizhstal”.

The evening continued by watching a documentary about the historical formation of independent Ukraine. After a short film show, came time to teleconference. The conversation was supervised by the youth mayor of Zaporozhye – Sergey Ilchenko.
Roman was the first one who got in touch – a fourth-year student of the Ternopil State Medical University. Roman shared his impressions of his studies, told us about his native city and about his strong wish to visit the city of Zaporozhye.

The second participant of the teleconference was Ivan Yakushik, who earlier worked at “Zaporizhstal”, and now lives in Kiev. Communication with the former employee turned out very warm – Ivan saw among the guests of the event a lot of familiar faces. With all the old friends, he exchanged with a few words and known about the latest news at the works.
– The Day of Ukrainian Unity is very important holiday for Ukrainians. This is our history, our experience, which must be passed to the children for their understanding of the native country history, “said Sergei Ilchenko.
