On January 27-28 in Zaporizhzhya, the Ukrainian athletics team championship will be held in the arena of “Social initiatives of Zaporizhzhya” LLC. Juniors will start to medal from January 30. But not only local representatives of the “queen of sports” took part in the regional championship in order to qualify for this competition. Track athletes from other regions came to try on tracks of Zaporizhzhya arena. By the way, the guests were pleasantly surprised by the sports facilities in Zaporizhzhya.
– Most guests are from Dnipro city – said the director of SDUShOR “Metallurg” Vladimir Samolenko. – Such a big city and it does not have its own arena. They look on us with admiring envy. Thanks to “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works, the sponsor of athletics in our region, we have a reconstructed arena, where it is warm and very comfortable to compete.
A medal event was held in the same disciplines as they are included in the program of the Ukrainian winter championship – 60, 400, 800, 1500-metres race, long jump and high jump, triple jump, shot put.
