Initiative group of employees of National preserve Khortitsa would begin renovation of Khortitsa staircase – architectural structure in the style of classicism, which represents the historical value and is popular among the citizens. Renovation of the staircase – is one of the projects- contest winners “We are the city” , which is annually arranged by “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works.
At the first stage of renovation, it is planned to renovate the structural elements of construction, put in order vegetation plantations, to remove the dead – wood, and also to install the land improvement facilities – benches, tanks for rubbish, etc.
Khortitskaya staircase – is the part of ten hectare dendrological park, which is up to now remains the favourite place for walking of citizens and making of photo shoots.
Renovation of the site would make it genuinely sightseeing one, this is because in the city there are no similar architectural composition in combination with uniquely elements of the natural landscape.
This would help to the development of tourist infrastructure, inflow of investments and creation of jobs, and besides, would raise the importance of ecological education, so as all wishing to do so, could take part in renovation of staircase.
Project owners promise to complete the first stage in 2014.
“Zaporizhstal” Steel Works allocated 50 thousand UAH grant for implementation of this initiative.
