The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation purchased and will hand over an ultramodern analyzer of samples for the Convergys® PCRtist coronavirus and replaceable cartridges for it to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in the near future. It will work in the Donetsk region – the only one where there was no such equipment before, that is why it had to send tests to Kiev. Ukrainian doctors told what is unique about this equipment.
- This analyzer is designed for the qualitative detection of coronavirus in the laboratory. Thanks to it, the test results become known in just 40 minutes.
The Convergys® PCRtist analyzer is so automated that it almost 100% eliminates the influence of the human factor on the testing procedure, significantly reduces the study time and eliminates the risk of errors.
Convergys® PCRtist does not require additional preparation of water, air or gases. The only important working condition is that the room should be dust free and the humidity level should not exceed 85%.
To use the device, doctors do not need to additionally learn, just study the instructions.
The sample analyzer allows testing not only for coronavirus, but also for a number of other diseases, ranging from tuberculosis and hepatitis C to the Dengue virus.
To work with Convergys® PCRtist you do not need a large number of reagents – all the necessary reagents and control materials are in one cartridge that comes with the kit.
Rinat Akhmetov allocated 300 million hryvnias to fight COVID-19. To do this, he combined all the resources – the Charity Fund, FC Shakhtar, DTEK, Metinvest and other SCM assets to help Ukraine.
To date, the Fund has already handed over two batches of mechanical ventilation devices to the public health institutions, an insulating mobile box, a protective biological and anti-chemical suit, 400 protective disposable overalls, 10 thousand protective masks, non-contact thermometers, multi-layer respirators, and goggles.
According to the personal decision of the Founder, the Fund purchased 300 thousand rapid tests for coronavirus for the whole country. Besides, an additional 20 thousand express tests, at least 200 ventilation devices needed to save lives, and other equipment will be additionally purchased.
