Rinat Akhmetov Foundation informs about completion of the finalists selection of creative essay contest organized within the framework of the project named Civilian Voices. One Day. The Expert Board of the contest has determined 150 finalists from 1,842 original works received from schoolchildren of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv oblasts.
– The Project aims to show that the war broke out not in one day but there were dozens and hundreds of different days connected both with the local events and events in the whole country which changed the life of people once and for all. For each Ukrainian this day is special, it is associated with memories, tragedies, losses and understanding that things will never be the same again, tells Oksana Ishchuk, Project Manager of Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
Participants whose works passed the qualifying stage and were admitted to ranking by the Jury are considered to be finalists of the Contest and are awarded corresponding diplomas.
The next stage stipulates that the Expert Board will provide finalists’ creative works for Jury’s consideration which will determine winners of the Contest (I, II and III places) till October 27, 2021.
During the Contest Rinat Akhmetov Foundation received multiple feedbacks from teachers who inspired the pupils to write their works.
– Thank you for your attention to the children, for understanding of the value of those feelings which were experienced by my pupils, for importance of the deed which you do. Even writing letters itself was immensely useful for my pupils. They were writing and crying. But strangely, those tears were a kind of a purification which brought relief. I wish you and your relatives only happy moments and friendly people by your side and also to have endless love for peace! – shared Inna Moroz, a teacher of Stepnianskiy Secondary Educational Establishment of Uhledar City Council.
