Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and FC “Shakhtar” handed over two modern lung ventilation devices to Kharkiv Regional Clinical Dispensary for Radiation Protection of the Population.
– For Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, assistance to the healthcare system has always been one of the priorities long before the pandemic. In February of this year, Rinat Akhmetov was the first to come to the aid of the country. He pooled the resources of the charitable Foundation, Football Club “Shakhtar”, Metivest and other SCM businesses to help Ukraine and allocated UAH 300 million to fight the coronavirus under “Fight against COVID-19 in Ukraine” project. This project became part of “Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives” Foundation program, – said Natalya Yemchenko, member of the Foundation’s Supervisory Board.
Yury Sviridov, Director of Strategy and Communications of FC “Shakhtar”, presented the certificate for lung ventilators to Irina Pirogova, director of the dispensary.
– For the third year in a row, “Shakhtar” football club has been playing its home games in Kharkiv. Therefore, it is especially important for us that, together with Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, we can help the city in the fight against coronavirus. I want to once again thank the doctors who continue to do the incredible – saving lives. Thank you for your golden hands, for your sensitive heart, for high professionalism, – said Yuri Sviridov.
In turn, Irina Pirogova noted the role of the Foundation assistance in fighting the epidemic.
– Thanks to Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for the opportunity to work with new, modern equipment. While providing assistance to patients with coronavirus, we felt how much our material and technical base and ventilators needed to be updated. In addition, the receipt of modern high-class devices will help our doctors solve many problems, increase the effectiveness of treatment and fight this disease, – said Irina Pirogova.
Deputy Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Yevgeniy Gritskov also expressed the words of gratitude:

In addition, doctors of the intensive care unit received from the Foundation medical clothing made by special order.
On July 20, Volchansk central regional hospital, located in Kharkiv region, received a high-quality lung ventilator from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
Earlier, Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and FC “Shakhtar” donated two lung ventilation devices to the doctors of Kharkiv Regional Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital. During the pandemic, this medical facility received the status of a supporting hospital for the fight against coronavirus. In addition, Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and FC “Shakhtar” donated 20 000 express tests to Kharkiv region to detect COVID-19.
