A modern stationary bike and an external lighting system: two projects of the contest “We Are City” were presented today at the Physical Rehabilitation Center on the basis of City Hospital No. 3.
The Center assists to combatants, ATO / OOS participants, and liquidators of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. As Elena Ivakhnenko, the head doctor of the city hospital No. 3, noted, two important projects were put forward for the contest “We Are City”, because the simulator helps patients recover, and lighting ensures their safety.
“The hospital provides round-the-clock help, so people come to us constantly. In the evening, we had some problems because there was no normal lighting. This attracted asocial personalities and interfered with the work,” said Elena Ivakhnenko.- Now, after we lit up the hospital with such mobile lights, it provided comfort and even safety to both doctors and patients.
In total, 25 lamps were installed on the hospital territory in the amount of 85 thousand UAH. The cost of stationary bike is 42 thousand UAH.
According to the doctors of the Center, exercise on a stationary bike is an integral part of recovery; doctors use it in almost all rehabilitation programs for people of all ages and at any level of physical fitness. On average, 25 people work out on a simulator per day.
The rehabilitation center was opened in 2016. Every year about 1,500 patients, including war invalids of all groups, receive help here.
