The wooden pavilion with sports equipment was solemnly opened in kindergarten No. 151 “Kapel’ka”.Therefore, thanks to the victory in the contest “We Are City” and a grant of 60 thousand UAH, the kindergarten management were able to realize their old dream, namely to get street space for teaching children according to the Waldorf method.
The pavilion opening was timed to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the first Waldorf school. As the director of the educational institution noted, the Waldorf group at “Kapel’ka” has been working for the sixth year. Now 13 people are studying there, children from 4 to 6 years old.
Elena Lubenets, director of the Kapelka kindergarten told us the folowing:
“According to this method, everything a kid touches should be made from natural materials, for example furniture made from wood. The peculiarity of the new pavilion is that it is completely made from wood. We created the Waldorf group, but there was no pavilion. Parents developed a project that won in the contest “We Are City”. This fundamental pavilion will last for many years”.
