The project of the Zaporizhzhia center of folk art “People’s House” brought together more than 500 masters from all over Ukraine. They succeed to organize a large-scale location thanks to the victory in the competition “We are the city”
Craft cheeses, sausages, honey, wine, sweets, nuts and berries – all these people tasted and purchased. And also – embroidered shirt, fur hats, lace shawls, wreaths, scarves and even blankets made of sheep’s wool, jewelry made of silver, beads and semiprecious stones.
Svetlana Dovlad, author of the project “Cossack Fair”:
“This year, we decided to hold this fair within the framework of City Day to reach a larger audience to show our talents. Creative teams from all over the region visited us. Here you can not only listen to folk songs, but also visit a variety of master classes in Cossack crafts such as straw, pottery, metalworking, there are archery workshops etc, – said Svetlana. – We have something to look at and have something to buy. I am sure Zaporizhzhia citizens will like it. The children’s location works separately”.
Traditionally, the main Cossack of Zaporizhzhia Oleg Grigoryev took part in the opening of the fair. He also held extreme workshops: men had the opportunity to learn how to chop potatoes in the air, and women – cabbage.
Oleg Grigoryev, Honored Artist of Ukraine:
“For the fifth year, I have been opening this fair, and I want to share with you – the format that we see today is more civilized, more interesting for people”, said Oleg Grigoryev. – I am pleased that people’s interest in such events does not subside – more and more people come and take part in master classes and listen to our wonderful Ukrainian songs. Here people have a rest, have the opportunity to learn and try something new”.
According to the organizers, the location of the “Cossack Fair” has become one of the most popular at the festival. Home wine, sauces and preserves had special demand.
