«Zapoprizhstal» JSC, within the social responsibility of Metinvest Group’s business, had invested about UAH 4 million in restoration and medical equipment of the infectious disease isolation wards for infants in Municipal Children’s Hospital No.5, in Zaporozhye city.
«Zaporizhstal» II&SW made overhaul repair in all the rooms of the infectious disease isolation ward with general area of 1220 m2, which were not repaired for the last 20 years. Those are 30 rooms for small patients and their mothers, play room, buffet, two procedure rooms, staff lounge, duty nurse room, other service and other subsidiary rooms.
Besides, the electricity supply and lighting systems, air conditioning system, water supply and waste water disposal systems and heating system are completely reconditioned. In accordance with modern standards, oxygen supply is provided in the wards and the signaling system from the beds to the area of the nurse on duty was arranged. Besides, new furniture, bathroom accessories, accessory household equipment was purchased for the wards.
Modern firefighting signaling was installed in the wards. «There are no more valuable investments but the investments into well-being of our children. For few months, a large-scale project had been realized – the unit, which would permit to provide an effective and qualitative medical aid for the smallest inhabitants of Zaporozhye, had been renewed», – the General Director of «Zaporizhstal» II&SW Rostyslav Shurma noted.
Besides, «Zaporizhstal» II&SW purchased modern medical equipment for the wards – that were dry-air sterilizers, apparatus for physio-treatment, inhalators, arrangements for drop infusions, electric suction machines, etc. In the wards there installed new recirculating quartz lamps, which do not leave any bad smell and do not affect health of people, being in the room at the moment of quartz treatment. The infectious disease isolation wards for infants in Municipal Children’s Hospital No.5 is designed for providing with the full-scale therapy of 45 children, which would stay in the hospital together with their mothers.
The infectious disease isolation wards are designed for treatment of children at the age from one month to three years having diseases of respiratory organs and with hard diseases of the central nervous system. In average, about 1500 patients are treated per year.
