On June 7-8, 2018, an annual Domenchik Scientific-Technical Conference “Experience in the reconstruction of the DP Zaporozstal plant No. 3” takes place on the basis of the Zaporizhstal plant. The forum brought together more than 100 scientists, managers, specialists in domain production from all over Ukraine. The organizer of the conference was the Ukmetallurgprom.
“Zaporizhstal” reconstructed blast furnace No. 3 in record time for the national industry – in 8 months. During the reconstruction of BF No. 3, a set of innovative solutions unique to Ukraine was used, among them were the creation of an intelligent furnace model, the use of laser scanning of segments and large-scale assembly. The new furnace is equipped with modern gas cleaning systems, which allows reaching parameters for cleaning dust emissions up to 20 mg per cubic meter. The company’s investments in the reconstruction amounted to 1.9 billion UAH.
Among the participants of the conference were the representatives of metallurgical enterprises and research institutes of Ukraine, also world leaders companies in the production of metallurgical equipment for blast-furnace production area.

During the conference, the participants exchanged the best practices of introducing new methods and improving the technology of blast-furnace production, and also got acquainted with the work of the reconstructed BF No. 3 and gas cleaning systems of the furnace.
