Zaporizhstal: production results in March 2023

In March 2023, Zaporizhstal has produced 193.6 thousand tons of hot metal, 184.4 thousand tons of steel, and shipped 150.8 thousand tons of rolled products.

The increase of production level in March 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year is due to the forced hot mothballing of production facilities in March 2022, caused by full-scale military operations on the territory of Ukraine. In March 2023, Zaporizhstal has operated at 50% of its capacity.

The decrease in production during the three months of 2023 compared to the same period last year was due to a shortage of raw materials and logistical problems caused by full-scale military operations in Ukraine. In addition, due to massive missile attacks on energy infrastructure facilities and the resulting power shortages in the energy system, the enterprise has reduced production, thus reducing the consumption of purchased electricity.

As a reminder, Zaporizhstal started taking Blast Furnace No.2 out of forced hot mothballing in March 2023.
