Today, April 15, within the framework of cooperation with the Dnipropetrovsk regional headquarters for combat coronavirus, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation together with Metinvest Group transferred 15 thousand tests to the medical institutions of Kryvyi Rih to detect COVID-19.
– Rinat Akhmetov allocated 300 million UAH to fight COVID-19. By the personal decision of the Founder, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, is making its contribution to the victory over the coronavirus epidemic. We purchased and handed over 300,000 COVID rapid tests to the Ministry of Health in the shortest possible time. Rapid testing of symptomatic patients and subsequent separation stops the rapid spread of infection. The tests were transferred to the Ministry of Health and distributed among the regions of Ukraine. We have already passed tens thousands of tests to Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Lugansk, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions. Dnepropetrovsk region received 30,000 tests this week. And today half of this aid – 15,000 – has been transferred to Kryvyi Rih, said Natalya Yemchenko, member of the Supervisory Board of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
These 15,000 test systems will be used to quickly detect cases of coronavirus infection in public hospitals designated by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. First, this is the Kryvyi Rih infectious diseases hospital, as well as city hospitals No. 7, 8 and 11.
Today, the fight against coronavirus requires the joining of all efforts – targeted assistance is not able to contain the spread of COVID-19, Metinvest believes.
– In all cities where our enterprises are located, Metinvest helps in the framework of the Rinat Akhmetov Charitable Foundation, together with other SCM assets. In Kryvyi Rih, together with the authorities and community, we determine what equipment is needed, we also transfer personal protective equipment for doctors and law enforcement officers, and help disinfect the streets. We understand the full responsibility for the life and health of our employees and their families. At the enterprises, we strictly fulfill all anti-epidemic requirements in order to protect the team. In such a difficult situation, it is important not to lose hope and work together, said Dmitry Shevchik, CEO of Metinvest Central GOK.
In total, Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and Metinvest Group donated 30,000 rapid tests to the Dnipropetrovsk region to detect COVID-19. The first cargos with them have already been delivered to Dnepr and Pavlograd.
– We are grateful to the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and Metinvest, because today we received 15,000 tests and, having 10,000 tests purchased from the city budget, we can start mass diagnostics of residents and doctors from today. This will help fight misfortune that has come to the world and to Ukraine. We are faced with a difficult challenge, and only together we can protect the health of our residents. As part of the work of the headquarters for the fight against coronavirus, we are monitoring the situation, coordinating the work of doctors and law enforcement officers. Thanks to the help of business, we provide personal protective equipment for all the services on which the fight against COVID-19 depends, said Mayor of Kryvyi Rih Yuriy Vilkul.
Modern systems will help Kryvyi Rih doctors to effectively identify cases of infection, promptly take the necessary measures to treat patients and prevent the spread of the disease.
