In September 2012, as a part of the Program on improvement the efficiency, the highest Blast Furnace productivity in the company’s history has been achieved at “Zaporizhstal” Iron & Steel Integrated Works.
The achieved performance indices of the Blast Furnace plant demonstrate the effectiveness of the program on reduction of production costs while increasing production volumes. So, in September, due to a number of technological and modernization activities, the lowest rate of skip coke had been achieved — 378 kg/t against 447 kg/t (at BF-355 kg/t) and the highest production of iron per day nominal had been achieved — 9215 tons which conforms to 2 tons of iron output per 1 cu. meter of Blast Furnace.
In steel making production of the Works, by improving the quality of metal scrap and modernization of weighing equipment, in September 2012 consumption of metal stock of the furnace charge per ton of steel produced had significantly reduced — 1113 kg/t, against 1170 kg/t in July 2012, and consumption of ferroalloys had decreased to 8.4 kg/t vs. 9.4 kg/t.
