“We completed 2017 with decent results. We kept the production, carried out a large-scale ecological reconstruction of BF No. 3, reached a record in hot metal production, expanded the mix by 8 positions, reduced the cost of production, increased the energy efficiency of production. The main task for “Zaporizhstal” in 2018 is to begin the construction of the basic oxygen furnace shop, which will open new horizons for the plant for the next 20-30 years,” - said Rostyslav Shurma, General Director of “Zaporizhstal”.
From January to December 2017, 3795.0 thousand tons of hot metal, 3926.4 thousand tons of steel, and 3214.2 thousand tons of rolled products were produced. The decrease in rolled products production in 2017 was due to the shutdown of rolling mills "1150" and "1680" in November for major repairs. The investments in repairs amounted to about UAH 130 million.
