Zaporizhstal, together with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and Metinvest, will install an oxygen station that will supply oxygen to 172 beds, and will also supply oxygen to 104 beds for patients of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Infectious Disease Clinical Hospital. The plant’s social investments in strengthening the hospital’s medical base in the fight against COVID-19 will amount to UAH 6 million.

The installation of an oxygen station and the installation of oxygen distribution in the chambers of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital will take place in stages: Zaporizhstal will provide design and estimate documentation for the installation of an oxygen station and installation work for broaching oxygen pipelines, as well as the supply and adjustment of oxygen equipment – modular gasifiers with a volume of 5 m³ each …

“We are working closely with the regional headquarters to combat the spread of coronavirus infection. Our decision to allocate funds for the purchase of a new oxygen station and for all work on the distribution of oxygen to hospital beds is due to the urgent need of people who are sick with COVID-19 and suffer from a lack of oxygen during treatment. The situation today dictates to everyone, without exception, without the consolidation of efforts and resources of doctors, business and the authorities, this pandemic is difficult to defeat, “said General Director of Zaporizhstal Alexander Mironenko.

The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration Vitaliy Bogovin noted that in the Zaporizhzhia region, business has actively joined in to support medicine in the fight, but the largest and most systematic support is provided by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, Zaporizhstal and Metinvest.

“For the assistance provided earlier, an agreement was reached with Zaporizhstal to finance a project to install an oxygen station and conduct oxygen distribution in the regional infectious diseases hospital. Let’s hope that this will save the life and health of many residents of the Zaporizhzhia region, ”added Vitaly Bogovin.

From the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Zaporizhstal and Metinvest, together with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, have been providing assistance to Zaporizhzhia healthcare: doctors received from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation 15 ventilators, 34,000 rapid tests and tens of thousands of COVID-19 protective equipment. The Foundation continues to contribute to the modernization of the Ukrainian healthcare system.
