In August 2023, Zaporizhstal produced 257.9 ths t of hot metal, 239.7 ths t of steel, and shipped 200.4 ths t of rolled steel. The increase in production in August 2023 y-o-y is due to the resumption of operation of blast furnace No. 2 after hot mothballing and adjustment of operation with three blast furnaces.
From January to August 2023, 1665.7 ths t of hot metal and 1499.4 ths t of steel were produced, 1240.4 ths t of rolled products were shipped.
It is worth reminding that, in connection with the escalation of military operations in the region since the beginning of March 2022, part of the equipment of Zaporizhstal of Metinvest Group underwent hot mothballing. At the end of March 2022, Zaporizhstal partially resumed the operation of the cold rolling shop for the production and shipment of cold-rolled coils to the European consumer. A month after the forced shutdown, Zaporizhstal demothballed the equipment and partially resumed production. Currently, the plant is operating at an average of 70% of its capacity.
