“Zaporizhstal” traditionally renders assistance and support to pupils of four children’s institutions in Zaporizhzhia. More than 600 pupils of the center for social and psychological rehabilitation of children, pupils of the regional specialized children’s home “Solnyshko”, boarding schools “Svitanok” and “Oberih” received sweet gifts from steel workers for St. Nicholas Day and for the upcoming New Year.
“Usually pupils of sponsored institutions met St. Nicholas Day at a theatrical performance in the Palace of Culture “Metallurgov”, and for the New Year they invited us to visit their soulful concerts. The pandemic has taken away our opportunity to visit children, but we are not changing our traditions of support. Therefore, we help institutions throughout the year and give sweet gifts for the holidays most awaited by children,” said Aleksandr Mironenko, General Director of “Zaporizhstal”.
The youth of the Steel Works visited the institutions twice – on the eve of St. Nicholas Day and on the New Year’s Eve – and gave treats to the small Zaporizhzhia citizens.
The Steel Works traditionally provides support to sponsored institutions, annually allocating about UAH 500 000 for these purposes.
