Zaporizhstal Metallurgists Receive Awards and Bonuses on 91st Anniversary of the Enterprise Foundation

On the occasion of Zaporizhstal 91st anniversary, the enterprise honoured employees and teams who made the greatest contribution to ensuring the stable operation of the enterprise during the war, mastering new types of products, and actively participating in volunteer initiatives.

For the third consecutive year, the team of Zaporizhstal is celebrating the enterprise foundation anniversary amid the full-scale war. Despite the challenging times, the enterprise works stably: every third tonne of iron, steel and rolled product in Ukraine is produced here at the Zaporizhzhia metallurgical enterprise.

On the occasion of the enterprise’s anniversary, fifty employees of Zaporizhstal were awarded certificates of honour from Zaporizhstal and Metinvest Group, Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, City Executive Committee, the enterprise’s trade union organisation, and other honours, along with cash prizes.

For significant contributions to improving production efficiency, honorary certificates from Metinvest were awarded to the hot and cold rolling shop teams, the networks and substations shop, and the plant’s combined heat and power plant. Each shop received a cash certificate for improving workplace conditions.

For Zaporizhstal’s 91st anniversary, the 48th scientific and technical conference of worker and student youth was also held. Over fifty young Zaporizhstal workers, Metinvest Polytechnic students, and other Zaporizhzhia university students participated in the forum.

The enterprise’s work strengthens the country’s economic rear: over nearly three years of full-scale war, Zaporizhstal has transferred almost UAH 5 billion in taxes to budget at all levels, which were converted into support for civilians and the Ukrainian Defence Forces. The enterprise implements systematically socially important projects in the region to reintegrate war veterans and support their families, help vulnerable groups of people, eliminate the effects of shelling and restore destroyed infrastructure facilities, etc.

Zaporizhstal continues its sustainable development: in 2024, Zaporizhstal plans to implement a capital investment programme totalling about UAH 1 billion. The programme is aimed at maintaining and upgrading equipment, implementing functional programmes for occupational health and safety, information technology, social security.

The enterprise honours its labour veterans, workers, employees currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, war veterans who have returned from the front, and fallen heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine. Metinvest Group and Zaporizhstal are making maximum efforts to preserve and support the team during the unprecedented challenges of wartime.
